It doesn't matter if they catch on fire, as long as you put it out before they actually burn through. I learned last year that sometimes you can't do shower plumbing without catching the house on fire. That's part of the ambiance. Can we please stop trying to go tit-for-tat on housing stuff...especially now that it looks like I'll probably have to start selling my place in January? :-) Beams are usually rather thick.
