Hi Pamela, you lucky thing…I’m still correcting an uncountable number of assignments, before tackling the written exam scripts next week.

Re script corrections, I think I read that you correct your scripts in parallel (one question at a time). I really admire this, but I’ve never been able to wean myself off correcting the full script, student by student, for two reasons

    (i) I’m terrified of making a mistake, i.e. omitting a whole question when totting up a student’s full marks (someone did this to me in my final highschool exams). I feel I’m less likely to make this mistake if I do a whole script at a time, because I quickly get a feel if the student is heading for a good mark…

(ii)I also find it easier to concentrate, as the student’s fate becomes clear as I go through the script

All very unprofessional I know, but I just find it much easier to get through a pile of scripts student by student!
    Regards, Cormac
