It’s been a great year, hasn’t it? I didn’t do as much outreach as I’d like because I’d like to do outreach full time. If only the school system here in the US had any interest in astronomy…

I know what you mean about science teachers being too interested in a “teach to the text” method. My daughters’ middle school science teacher thanks me for my offer to come with my solar telescope and give a talk, but she never follows up. Again & again I make the offer, and again & again she thanks me and does nothing.

Wow. I’m glad you get to rest a bit, thank you for all the work you have done!

I caught some of the lectures from yesterday which were truly inspiring. Did I read that right that 180,000 Galileoscopes were manufactured? I was hoping to get up in time to see Ron Ekers speak, but alas, that was 9am for me and it didn’t happen. I know the SKA efforts are having good impacts on the educational systems of Australia and South Africa.
